dWallet Labs, a Core contributor to Ika and a pioneer in cryptographic security, has introduced REFHE (Ring-Enhanced Fully Homomorphic Encryption), a groundbreaking encryption scheme that operates like a modern CPU. This innovation supports encrypted 64-bit values, enabling seamless computation on encrypted data without decryption—a long-sought milestone in cryptography.

Unlike traditional FHE schemes that force a trade-off between arithmetic and logic efficiency, REFHE unifies both capabilities. It achieves 100x smaller ciphertexts, 20x faster multiplications, and 1,000x faster additions compared to existing solutions like BFV, which has dominated since 2016. The advancement positions REFHE as the first FHE scheme capable of practical, CPU-like encrypted execution.

The research aligns with growing blockchain demand for privacy-preserving computation, with potential applications across decentralized networks. Threshold FHE integration could further enhance security in MPC protocols.
